Thinking about Neil's 4th point, it would seem that Varroa could evolve quicker due to the reproductive cycle, however as they are interbred, wouldn't this would significantly reduce their ability to do so? Is their ability to become resistant to certain treatments something they develop, just like humans becoming less susceptible to the cold (albeit something that they can pass through the generations) or is it genuinely a genetic adaptation.
