First meeting Belfast queen rearing group 2012
We had our first gathering tonight at our association apiary site. No chance to work with the bees as the temperature was about 8c and squally.
22 hardy souls turned up on a rainy evening which I reckon was a good turnout. We had a couple of new faces from neighbouring associations.
We split into a couple of groups for a guided tour of the facilities at Minnowburn and I did a brief talk about the queenright queenrearing system.
All we need now is a bit of decent weather.

Look at the attire. This is the middle of May and absolutely freezing.

There is some quality genetic material in that last photo.
Could not possibly comment on the miscreants in the first two.
The first two are probably my best two colonies and the next two are Galtee daughter queens.
Hope to graft from all of these.
