Default SAC Beginners Beekeeping Course - Auchincruive

Just found out there are beginners & intermediate one day courses by Scottish Agriculture College in Ayr, £25 for the day. Various dates in May & June. Booked on the 24th. Details are via Graeme.sharpe@sac.ac.uk

Attended this today and found it really helpful to re-iterate some of the info Ian Craig & Peter Stromberg do in their course, but the practical session was INVALUABLE. We got to handle brood frames with measured abandon (without the worry of doing something to your fellow association members bees). We spotted a new Queen & watched her be clipped & marked, we saw a hive about to swarm with 2 complete sealed Queen cells and added a brood box & created a nucleus from it. It was all so helpful, especially the Pre swarm management. Graeme was an excellent instructor and I would recommend this to any complete beginner to someone with a year or so under their belt without hesitation, £25 for that & lunch a blinkin' bargain!

Excellent to hear some (positive) feedback HJBee and glad you enjoyed, sounds like you're really taking the bull by horns at the moment and I look forward to hearing more about how you get on.
