    Default Tom Seeley Lectures

I was at a couple of brilliant lectures yesterday.

Tom Seeley did a presentation on (a) How a swarm chooses a location to move to, and (b) how they navigate there when they have made their decision.

There are some videos of his work here, but if you get a chance to attend a lecture, don't miss it. He is a great communicator.

He has a book out - Honey Bee Democracy.

Which is excellent. A fantastic account of how swarms locate, choose and move to a new 'home'. Seeley explains his experiments very clearly. Not beekeeping, but a wealth of information on bees. Highly recommended.
