    Default Polystyrene boxes

    Does anyone have a use for styropack boxes??
    Going to have a few coming through shop.

    Internal size. 360x260x230mm

    External. 400x300x280mm

    Volume 22 litres

    You could probably build mini-nucs (or perhaps midi-nucs) from boxes this size, though you'd probably have to line them with thin ply or correx as I suspect the polystyrene is low density stuff. I built a couple last winter but never got round to using them as I had enough Kielers. Looking at the dimensions you should be able to put in a central divider and still leave space for about 3 top bars on either side.

    Alternatively, I use this sort of thing for moving queen cells between apiaries ... I'm too mean to buy a proper incubator, so have a poly box with an internal foam block that takes QC's in cages. I simply drop a pre-warmed freezer block into the bottom and it keeps a suitable temperature for a good time.

    Wasnt planning on using boxes myself however if any use to anyone else then feel free to let me know and i'll keep them aside.
