    Default Marmalade and bees

Making marmalade today,we got visited by the bees in the kitchen 'cos the window was open to release the steam. All colonies flying strongly in the slight warmth-good to see such activity. Will check for stores and feed fondant if neccessary.

    Hi Grizzly,

Must be almost tropical down your neck of the woods. Still only about 1 degree in our west coast location

Lucky you - we have been enduring sub zero temperatures for weeks now in the North and our bees are nowhere to be seen (although melted snow round the hive entrances and a reassuring buzz from within whenever we give a tap on a hive wall tell us that all is well inside). Roll on summer!!!
