    Default Association accounts

Does anyone have any useful info regarding accounting software. For years I had a really good system, but that doesn’t work on MACs anymore. Last year I got a free software called GNUcash. It’s pretty ancient but worked OK till about a month ago. I have two sets of accounts on it and the Spey Beekeepers association accounts have completely disappeared. The software just denies them, despite Time Machine backup on the mac and an external drive back up. When I try to open the backup files it takes me to the application which just says they are no longer available. Anyway, I don’t want to be paying a monthly fee for an association with 30 + or - members and I want to hand over the accounts to someone else next year. I could go down the excel route but l prefer to have addresses of members and suppliers all linked in. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.

It seems like none of us can help you, Bridget. Perhaps you can write to the treasurers of some of the other beekeeping organisations. Their names are listed on some websites - for example, ADBKA, SNHBS, and SBA.

Thanks Kitta - I spent 4 hours trying to find the accounts and my patience paid off finally. I must say I had to go through quite a few blogs trying everything out but found out it was a software error, as I thought not recognising the file, so I worked my way through a few different ways of opening the file and - hey- voila it worked. Phew!
