    Default Winter shut down

Nice to see that at least some users still stop by to see if SBAi is back on the air, thanks.

Of course, I have been away on an extended holiday in the Cayman Islands on the proceeds of that bank phishing scam I set up shortly before New Year. (If Fasthosts are reading, I'm kidding!). There have been a series of mini-hacks in the last couple of months which I've managed to catch before they went critical - until that last one. With the help of friends and family, especially fatshark, we think we've rooted out the problem. We *ought* to be in a stable position now apart from one planned change in the next week or two which should make the site even more resilient.

Moving to a Linux server? LOL

Well done the team for getting everything back up and running well again.

LOL! Thanks Kev. You should have aged the picture a couple of decades and added bags under the eyes for those recent late nights.

Pete, we'll be staying with Linux but there are some changes needed.

Good to see the forum back.
Have you been able to identify where the hacking was from? Maybe the Russians are trying to subvert UK beekeeping?

The thing that really gets me is that the IP address traced right back to Putin's Office! Apparently the bank phishing was just a cover and when I really looked into it I saw this odd video of a guy with an orange complexion and funny hair performing an .... err ... well, I shut down the video right away as I really didn't want to see any more. I kept a copy though in case there is a journalist out there who has a large budget for exclusives.

I guess that the BBKA with their new(ish) bespoke rather than off the shelf forum software manage to avoid these troubles?

You'll either retire a happy man or just disappear for ever with that video

Not very exclusive though as it seems half the news sites probably have copies already. Wouldn't it be hilarious if he's impeached before he's in power?

Re. the point made by Adam ... no subversive beekeeping allowed on the BBKA site by official decree.

And on a cheerier note ... here are some snowdrops just peeking through:
