Hi All,

These free seminars are usually only open to the department but with bee related topics we are more than happy to welcome Aberdeen Beekeepers Association and SBA members so please feel free to spread the word and come along.

This Friday 25th November – the University of Aberdeen is hosting Dr Giles Budge from FERA and University of Newcastle who will speak on:

"Pesticides, pathogens, pests and pollinators”.

The seminar will be the usual time and place – 13:00 until 14:00 in the main Zoology building lecture theatre (ZG08).

Giles Budge is an applied scientist with expertise in pathology, apiculture, diagnostics and crop protection. His research focuses on finding intelligent solutions for real-world problems that inform policy makers and help industry. Dr. Budge recently led a successful £21m bid to establish a national Centre of innovation in Crop Health and Protection in York. He has provided expert evidence to inform several policy reviews surrounding pollinator health and protection, including contributions to the government's banning of neonicotinoids.
