Bees collect resin from trees, beekeepers called it Propolis have looked it up but cannot find satisfactory answer do bees add something to it or is it just resin,

My *bible* states that resin and balms make up about 55%. The rest is essential oils (7%) , wax (30%), pollen (3%) and other various substances.
