    Default Pollen in supers

This year I have had National super frames with pollen in them - a small arc towards the centre. Is this because my hives are too crowded? Is there anything I can do about it?

I give some of mine a second brood box in peak season which avoids this. Some colonies fit ok into a single brood but others are better with a bit more space for the brood nest and this also helps to prevent swarm preparations due to overcrowding.

Pollen in honey was a special product which Ron Brown the beekeeper and author says commands a premium price at health food shops
