followers

Can anyone tell me how to tell which hive is producing followers. We have four hives and after inspection of all of them when we clear up there is always follower bees buzzing around.

On a day (or time) when few are flying approach one hive and take the roof off, make sure the bees respond, then put it back together again and walk away. By a process of elimination you should be able to work out which it is.
