    Default aipary equipment

    Hi all,

We have just set up our new small association with the SBA and are also in the process of developing our new aipary.

So its a tounge in cheek question but were looking for any spare equipment that we can use so we can introduce newcomers to some hives and stuff.

Its got to be donated though lol as we are trying to recruit people and one of the attractions is if we can keep costs as low as possible.

We have 1 smith hive and 1 spare for swarm or split so if you think you can help or if you know of any going that we can fix/repair that would help too.

    Here is my contact details:

    Dave: 01501-744817 or 07787796001

    Many thanks

You could make yourself a load of nucs out of correx.
There are quite a few threads about this on the site.
You can buy Cedar brood boxes from Thorne for about £17 in the sales and make your own floors and roofs from correx as well.
Correx is brilliant for roofs as it is lightweight and completely waterproof.

Buy the cedar brood box in the sale and make the floor and roof from correx if you want to do beekeeping on a shoestring.

    Hi Dave
I think the sale comes at the end of the season
If you buy anything from thornes online they put you on the mailing list
A list of stuff in the sale comes via email then
