Busy at the heather

Well that was a surprise. Hives at the heather and one hive filled a super then the travel screen. Removed comb and new super added. They are north of Tain and with the weather set to improve I'm thinking leaving them for another week. Attachment 2992Don't have much experience of heather but want to get them back in time to give them winter feed. Any advice welcome.

I moved my colonies back home on Wednesday, and got soaked in drizzle rain. It definitely looked like the end of the season - and then Thursday was glorious sunshine with no wind - so, Greenway, I hope your bees (or you) benefitted from staying put on the heather a few more days.
