Does anyone recognize what this might be? It's about 50mm long and has a stinger in its tail.

    I believe this itype of ladybird larvae

    It's a de'ils coach horse, a rove beetle. They're supposed to be able to bite *and* squirt smelly stuff at you from the other end but I'm sure they're lovable really and perform a useful function in the garden or allotment.

    Thanks. I did see it curling its tail and something white excreting which I though may be a sting.
