  1. Shoo Winter.

I know it gives me a good excuse to indulge in a small *ahem* glass of Talisker before bed, but sod off winter, I'm bored and I miss my bees.

I've spent my life savings on the Thornes sale on kit that I might regret buying come spring. I've done all I can do, it's now up to the ladies to get on with it.

    Hurry up spring.

  2. Entering the talk Circuit Pt II.

So the first talk is over an done with. Not quite the Steve Jobs of the beekeeping world just yet, but overall I think it went rather well.

    The plusses:
Having tried very hard to avoid "death by powerpoint" I think I succeeded. I had several comments that the slides were helpful, clear, well presented and helped the talk rather than overwhelmed it.

  4. Wax on....

So I've nearly finished fiddling with the stuff I've taken off the hives this year. The mead continues to bubble away, there remains two buckets of honey still needing putting into jars and my labels still aren't done, but I have now converted the big bucket of cappings and the odd disintegrated super frame into blocks:

Somehow it doesn't seem an awful lot of wax anymore as a lot of the weight ...

  5. Mead

IN for a penny and all that jazz. I was less than careful when I uncapped the honey and had a few frames that weren't suitable for uncapping that I thought I could add to the mix so I've had a go at making some mead:

Assuming I haven't totally buggered it up I reckon this should either be a fairly/very sweet mead or you'll be able to use it to strip paint. Perhaps both. About a month ago a ...
