Been mulling this for a while and thought it might be useful to try and gather reading material around the common bee pests and diseases, apiary hygiene and management, IPM schemes etc, into one place. The intention is to link only to documents or other online resources that forum consensus considers useful. I see lots of posts around the Module 3 exam (honey Bee Pests and Diseases) in terms of reading material and I think that would be a useful benchmark to consider in terms of the usefulness of a link or document.

General
BeeBase Main page (https://secure.fera.defra.gov.uk/beebase/)
Main Beebase/Fera Download Page (https://secure.fera.defra.gov.uk/beebase/index.cfm?pageid=167) - lots of related fact sheets and booklets around honey Bee Health.
BeeBase Gallery (https://secure.fera.defra.gov.uk/beebase/gallery/index.cfm?galleryid=0) - Helpful pics of various pests and disease conditions, plus some nicer ones too.

Just skimmed through the Fera managing varroa handbook.
There is alot of poor quality information in it, or just wrong information:
Note 1 (Formic acid)
Not authorised in any EU Member State, except in Germany when used in conjunction with Illertisser mite plates or Nassenheider evaporators only. (Oxalic acid)
Note 2 Not authorised in any EU Member State, but tolerated in many countries.

Formic acid 60% is authorised (and highly recommended) in germany for above mentioned apparatus + medicine bottle and "vileda" cloth.
Oxalic acid is also authorised and recommended in the Germany.
Both are sold subsidised by the EU to beekeepers in medical quality.
I think Austria and Holland authorise both too. Also sad that the UK cannot use research from Europe to authorise proven effective treatments (page 22 Use of non-approved generic substances).
