What's the difference between brace and burr comb?

I generally refer to any unwanted comb as brace comb but that's not quite right.

Far as I'm aware Brace comb is a form of Burr Comb.

I understand it that Burr Comb contains brood (normally drones) whilst Brace Comb doesn't.

What's the difference between brace and burr comb?

What's the difference between Burl Ives and Walt Disney...?

..Burl Ives but Walt Disney.

(works best if your accent is Scottish)

Well, I reckon that brace comb spans gaps and give rigidity (even if the bees were just doing it because they saw a space big enough). Frame tops to the bottoms of frames in a box above. Frame tops to the crown board. Comb to the sides of the box, especially when the frame doesn't have side bars.

Burr comb is just extra comb attached on one side. and not spanning a gap.

I think.

Is it to do with the direction it is built, i.e. one is built horizontal & the other is vertical?
