Its an ugly world out there and its getting very nasty at times in NZ over the best manuka locations.

However the bit about invites is very valid.

Several years ago we hosted an event at one of our heather apiaries. It was a decent year and the hives were heavy. The end of August and a lovely day out for all. The next week the entire honey crop was stolen from the 49 hives there..........think they got away with about a tonne of ling honey.

Has not stopped me inviting associations though. Most people are good decent folk.....sadly one or two bad apples can ruin things for everyone.

Thefts here on Anglesey were from a training apiary. It seems they thought bees should have been included the price.
