A fortune, eh?! It has been said many times, but the only way to make a small fortune beekeeping in Scotland is to start with a large one, then stop after a couple of years.

If you live in Glen Prosen you must think beekeeping is booming. After some years with no beekeepers there for the heather four have taken bees there for the first time this year. One of the four posts regularly on here and he had the approach from the media guy working for the moorland group.

The press release was out on Sunday and it made the Scotsman, the Herald, Press and Journal and .... ooops, the Mail.

Heather here was a disaster so I'm told, Tried it once with one hive and got about 4 lbs of really good honey which sat in the cupboard and was used very sparingly - I can still taste it......give me more, bees are addictive I can't stop, ... .you've been warned
