Actually Graham I don't own a Video camera just a compact camera and holding it in one hand seems to be making beekeeping a whole lot harder :)

These are two of the hive that I have put to there new home, which is where I will be keeping all my bees at. Hive one has been there for about 1 week now and I can see a BIG difference in it, it is far more active the other hive the swarm hive was only moved there yesterday. The bell heather has been out for about 2 weeks so there should be about 2 weeks left ?
I have checked the ling heather and it is just starting to show buds so should hopefully be ready in about 1 to 2 weeks as it's a bit later up here this year!

Gwizzie that first hive is a hideous colour

Better to take a frame out and set it aside to make yourself some room to work with. Slide them back into the space one by one.
You risk rolling bees lifting them out and replacing them one by one like that.

Didn't see any capped stores in hive 6. Has it got enough stores to see it through a week or two of bad weather?

H Jon, thanks for the comment, I do remove one frame sometimes 2 frames to make room and in the 1st video i'm just checking the suppers and in the second video of hive 6 thats got he ANGRY bees so was a bit hesitant but yes your right and I do normally remove one or two frames as have frame rest for this :)

When you requeen a colony with a better queen the temper should improve immediately. This is due to her pheromone. You don't have to wait for all the old bees to die off and be replaced to see some improvement.

Hi Jon, thanks for that bit of info......;)
As I was told that it was to do with the gene's from the drone. (A bad tempered drunk she had a one night stand with LOL) That made them aggressive.

I did say in the video that I was going to remove that frame BUT I decided against it Just as well after what you have said Jon.!!!

Just wondering why some are still attacking me (stinging) straight OFF and none of my other hives are like that ????? are those the one that haven't smelt her Chanel Number 5 yet.

Hi Jon, yes went back after 2 days and moved them from the clubs hive into mine but we could not see the queen then, (to much going on) bees all over the place, BUT went back later that day in the afternoon to check for her and she was there on the 3rd frame as the wife spotted it and they were a lot calmer I must admit.

But as I said I am still getting the few that are kamackazi bees, going there tomorrow to get them ready for the move to my apiary so thats going to be a full week with the new queen, I will let you know how I get on tomorrow and I'll check for the queen again!!!
