Just thought you might like to see one of my bees (I presume) robbing comfrey flowers at my main orchard site a couple of days ago. Bumble bees cut a hole in the corolla which you can see in the fuzzy flower on the left and honeybees learn to take nectar through the hole. They'll do the same on broad/field beans and many other flowers.

That bee must be years old. Amazing she can fly - see those ragged wings.

I used to see my bees doing that on red clover when I lived up t'mountain. thanks for the photo - it means I don't confuse red and white. Well, maybe after a few bottles of them.....:o
