Just recovering after the Ulster Beekeepers Association's spring convention at Greenmount College near Belfast. Lots of interesting talks, a great display of trade stands, good craic. This year's speakers included our own Phil McAnespie, Celia Davies, Jeri Wright of Newcastle University, Willie Blakemore, Eamon Magee, Rowena Jenkins of Cardiff University. I missed the workshops but Phil from on here was leading one.

The trade stands:

Abelo with their MiniPluses:

The crowd at one of Celia Davies' talks including the backs of the heads of two NIHBS leading lights:

And the obligatory stuffing of beekeeping purchases into the back of the estate car. This car is a Volvo and the picture features both the author (the donkey whisperer) and the owner of the hives and the potatoes that feature in this famous SBAi story (http://www.sbai.org.uk/sbai_forum/content.php?122-Delaney-s-Donkey).

Yup. The surprising thing was that we then squeezed me and my luggage in too!

That car already looks dangerously low at the back - cant really comment any further..

That car's a Volvo - it can take all sorts of treatment!

I've had two days with Jon and Colette touring round beekeeping sites so mine is probably passed its peak for the year. A bit like the inverse of the bee hives across the seasons :).
