You don't mean from that country east of Sweden, across the Baltic, and west of Russia?

Looks like it's down, but there is a blog post suggesting that the forum is moving to a new server at the moment.

Can I just suggest that people be nice? I'm not a huge fan of cross forum critique and especially not when it's about people who post in one place but not another. There are plenty of regulars here who also visit there and vice versa. There is plenty of room on the Internet for SBAi and Beekeeping Forum without having to promote a them and us atmosphere. I hope those that find themselves here for an Internet beekeeping fix in the meantime can consider themselves welcome to just read or partake as the mood takes them.

Was anyone being horrible? Isn't there a thread, here, comparing and contrasting the relative merits of one forum over another? I like dropping in here, for the banter between the regulars, and for advice, especially Q raising, it is a very friendly forum, and less anarchic as the BKF. Apparently the BKF will be back after breakfast time ;)

No, but I was pleased to see Neil's message just reinforcing that the two fora are happy to co-exist on friendly terms on the same internet. Everyone is welcome here whenever they wish and I wish Mark well trying to overcome the current difficulty. It certainly gives me the jitters when I have to do anything major with the software or servers ....

Apologies if I'm a trifle pedantic, but is Finland a Scandinavian country? You could well be right - my geography is worse than my bee keeping

I wondered about the saying poles apart
"Finland, is a Nordic country situated in the Fennoscandian region of Northern Europe"
Good old wikipedia
So many interesting things to learn about the snowy beekeeping regions

Good Heavens, do you have any idea just how frightening you can be at times?

I have since learned that poles apart refers to the North and South poles
Where bees can't venture (even AMM)
On the wiki subject there is a wiki species now
As yet there are no entries for AFB etc so perhaps someone with reference photos etc could fix that
There is a varroa page but no photos or info yet
http://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Varroa
Actually there is a black and white electron mic scan but not very helpful
