Sounds from mini-nucs

Last night, day 11 since grafting, piping from a couple of queens in the mini-nucs ... so they've hatched or about to hatch ... yes?

This morning, a soft 'knocking' sound from another. Any ideas what that could be?

None of them roaring any more. Is that another sign the queen has hatched or maybe that they have accepted her imminence/eminence?

So peaceful out their in the misty sunshine!

Festooning and drawing wax. A lovely sound. A lovely word, festooning, as well.

What's that about, if you know? Why do they make the noise?

Dunno why or how they make the sound but you do hear it when they are drawing wax.
