I despair, I really do. It isn't just the BBC making enormous mistakes.

Two posts from Phil Chandler of Biobees. The second one is his response in the thread Jon pointed us to in which, in the bizarre fantasy world of Biobees, even ash dieback can be ascribed to an insecticide put on some crops.

Remarkably, I have been invited onto the steering committee for the next round of DEFRA-funded research.

While I am fully aware of the possibility that they may be attempting to use me to make the process look 'balanced', it may nevertheless indicate a shift in attitude.

We shall see...

Interesting. I don't feel qualified to comment beyond that, except to say that I think this needs some serious attention from scientists.
