Thanks to who ever it was a couple of weeks ago mentioned setting wasp traps. I was being plagued with the little b💢👻ger🈵 and subsequently had five jam jars full of dead marauding wasps sitting on top of the hives. Today it's colder so none around apart from this fella drying out his wings on the warmth of the poly give - the sun was out briefly. 1242

A fine addition to any apiary. Not many about this year.

Well I've seen stacks of dragon flies this summer and don't remember seeing them previously, but it's only been a year I've been back in this area after 20 years away and a lot has changed! Nice to see them .

The dragonflies from our pond eat bees. They don't eat many, so we aren't particularly worried.

The funny thing is we don't have a pond. A very fast flowing burn close by but our bit of ground is quite dry

However, that dragonfly does look quite like a crocodile lying in wait for unsuspecting prey, so if I see another on a hive I will watch with interest
